My speciality is in removing phobias, treating anxiety and panic attacks. I've helped hundreds of people to live free from stress, the effects of trauma and fear.
Hypnotherapy is not only excellent for tackling problems, it's great for designing positive, hopeful futures. It's not a form of counselling but a practical way of solving problems.
An hypnotic trance is a relaxed state in which the therapist communicates directly with the unconscious mind, bypassing the bit of us that can be resistant to change. It's a gentle, enjoyable, relaxing process of learning and unlearning.
It's not easy to explain but I'll tell you how I understand it. Suppose we say that we have a conscious mind that makes decisions, is critical and takes in new information. It regularly transfers some of this data to the unconscious mind where we create patterns and store emotions and memories. Some of those patterns of behaviours are helpful and some aren't. There may be a disconnect.
In hypnosis, the critical part of your mind takes a break and the therapist works with the unconscious to re-train those unhelpful patterns of thinking and troublesome memories. Hypnosis builds a bridge between the two sides of your brain.
Actually, I think this video say it better.
